Termite Inspection & Treatment

Termites eat wood and other forms of cellulose and consequently, can cause great structural damage to your home if left unchecked. A typical homeowner's insurance policy does not cover destruction caused by termites, even though they cause over 1 billion dollars in damage to homes throughout the United States each year. Our inspection and treatment program can help Charleston, Mattoon & Monticello IL area homeowners understand the threat of termites and take the necessary steps to protect their homes.

Termite Inspection

You can’t assume your home is termite-free just because you’ve never seen them—they only swarm once or twice a year, and you might miss it! We thoroughly inspect your home or business, looking for the telltale signs of termite infestation. Some of the things we look for are:

  • Mud tubes built for traveling above ground
  • Damaged or hollow-sounding wood
  • Pinholes or soft spots in drywall or wallpaper
  • Termite wings leftover from swarming activities
  • Other specific termite indicators

In addition, we offer Real Estate transfer, wood-destroying insect (WDI), inspections required by lending institutions for the sale of residential and commercial properties. NPMA forms, guidelines, and procedures are used in all conventional and HUD/VA guaranteed property transactions.

Termite Treatments

Sentricon

Our company has used the Sentricon® Termite Colony Elimination System to eliminate active and prevent further termite infestation of hundreds of residential and commercial structures since 1996. The Sentricon System was developed with respect for the environment. It is registered by the EPA under the Reduced Risk Pesticide Initiative, and it’s the only termite control product ever to receive the Presidential Green Chemistry Award.

In contrast to traditional liquid treatments, which use hundreds of gallons of chemical solution, the Sentricon System uses only grams of active ingredient when and where needed. In fact, since we started using the Sentricon System, our company has eliminated the use of over 400,000 gallons of chemical solution that would have been injected into the soil to protect the same number of structures. With over 2 million structures protected, including the Statue of Liberty, the White House, the Alamo, and other celebrated properties, the Sentricon System has become the standard for termite colony elimination.

Only select companies are qualified to offer and service this unique system, and we are proud to be one. As an Authorized Operator of the Sentricon System, we have extensive training and state-of-the-art data gathering and management tools. We know how to eliminate termite colonies, and we are happy to share information about how we work toward colony elimination.
